R.A.M. DC3, Knoxville, TN

Postby Politically Incorrect » Thu May 06, 2004 6:18 pm

I was lucky to see the Remote Area Medical DC3 sitting in the grass last night at Island Home Airport, in Knoxville TN. This beauty is hangered most of the time when not taking medical help to the needy. Great organization!!! I'm going to be volunteering my services with them, maybe they will let me wash and wax her!! :)

Notice the skyline of the city of Knoxville in the background in the first two. I think the last sort of says it all! with the "sun rays" surrounding the "Wings of Hope"!
Hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoy being able to be around this bird whenever i want!!! :)

I liked that last one very much, do you have a 1024x768 copy of it? It will look great on my background. 8)

Thanks guys for the compliments! Only here can I find people who appreciate and understand the beauty of airplanes!  ;D

Now a question, what is the easiest and least expensive method of taking digital photos and making them into a calender? I'm thinking of gathering some and making a "gift" for all the people who volunteer thier time to this great organization! For those who rely on this bird to get thier help where it is needed. And the idea crossed my mind that maybe I could sell them to help raise money for RAM.
For those wondering who RAM is. It is a medical service founded by Stan Brock (aka Marlen Perkins assistant on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom) they take doctors, nurses etc, to various parts of the world that are in need of medical assistance. All done by volunteers!! There is allot of time and effort put into making this kind of humane service work, and I hold the highest respect for all involved! People like this is what makes me belive that there are good people in this world! ;)

Magnificent shots Fret. I particularly like the first one. ;)

If you get that job give her a little extra polish for me. This RAM outfit seems a very worthwhile organisation.

I can't offer much advice with the calendar. It would depend on how big you want the images. Professional quality printing at relatively low cost is possible with the modern printers & paper these days. Alternatively it might work out cheaper if you can find a local printing outfit to do the complete job for you. Again, the price would depend on the size of the pages & number of copies.

Hey Fret!
Those shots are very, very nice. Nice set up and nice framing of the close ups. Really gives the illusion like the "nose" of this bird is always looking up!
#3 & 4 are superb!

Thanks for sharing them and congrats on the work for a great cause!
