As promised I have some photos of my home area to share.
This is what the city of Gatlinburg TN, looks like from the side of a mountain far from all the tourist.


This one is the main ticket office for Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge,TN.


This is a light display at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge, all branches of the Armed Forces are represented.


And last but not least my favorite of all (year round)  X-mas lights, and proof that "Homeland Security" is a waste of taxpayers money, a picture taken standing in the middle of runway 28 at GKT airport.


I apologize for the pics being slightly distorted and out of focus, I'm new to digital cameras and can't get used to the push,wait,click process of takeing photos with a digital camera, not to mention the wind blowing 20+ mph!!
I have many more but to not bore you and take up too much space I'll post a few here and there.

Being a newcomer to digital photography myself I can't really offer much advice. Add to that the fact that I know & accept that I will never make a decent photographer. LOL

Here's a few tips from a raw but enthusiastic amateur. My main advice would be to practice with the camera until you can use it without thinking. Carry it with you at every opportunity & make sure it's fully charged before you leave home. The one big benefit of digital over a conventional camera is that you're no longer restricted to a roll of film or how many shots you can take. You can also check the composition immediately & see if if the subject is positioned about right. Take as many shots of a subject as you like within reason & pick out the best ones later. Depending on the subject I would usually choose the highest image resolution possible so I can crop it if I wish.

I've been looking for some of the Smokey Mtns and only find some for 2002 right now, hopefully soon!!
