hi guys, this was my aviation project, (aviation class, we had to build one so we would learn how an airplane is inside and stuff like that....) i got perfect on mine

















it is not very clear on the pix but i carved the panel on a piece of wood, applied the decal and put the carved piece over, so it looks realistic.... i also did the interior from scratch, i couldnt get it to show but i put the stick, rudder pedals, seat, cables and levers inside....all out of spare balsa i also carved the prop and added the pilot figure from the Airfix "little nellie" plastic model kit.

Looks like you put a lot of work into that Space.

Now have you thought of Doping it and Painting it?

Thought of taking up the hobby again as I seem to have some time on my hands.

Not bad Ace....I have a few of these in my hangar, but I have to keep the details to a minimum in order to make them flyable with a reasonable wing-loading........

I am actually building that same kit right now, I must say that it is a slight pain working with something so small, as I am used to building much larger scale R/C aircraft. Hope mine comes out as good as yours did.

the model is doped, haha seriously, i used the tissue that came with it, so u could still see the structure and stuff. i wanna scan some pix of the models i left back in Colombia, i had a collection of about 20, all mine and some more that were my dad's

kn, i'd love to have a flyable one but after puttin my heart and soul into this i dont wanna ruin it with a bad landing  :-[ hahaha it sounds dumb but i love my models and i get sad when they brake or things happen .....

the model is rather big, i mean t looks small on the pix but it ist so hehehe look



if my hypothesys is right, the cub would be able to fly, if towed or launched from a high point, it will glide down but of course i will not try it!

Even at that size you can make them fly and they don't hurt themselves when they land....I've been flying this one since '90....13 yrs and still going......

Nice pictures.

Just curious....is that an old hangar you folks are flying in?
It seems the width is being used for a range of some sort and by the looks of the floor there is painted plywood over the floor.
Wonder how many of our members like you and Space share the same hobby?

Now I fly in a small Pentacostal Church hall...its actually behind the church proper, but is adequate for the guys here....I used to fly with the boys in Markham on Friday nights, out east of Toronto..........

yes, u r right but im way too overprotective with my models, i had a Mustang, the 1/42 Gillow's kit (i believe it was a 1/42 but im not sure, it was about 5 times igger than the cub) and i tried it for the first flight, it had a rubber engine so i twisted the prop right as i was told by my dad (we used to go flying together when i was little) and i launched it from a high tower so the musty would pick up speed and he it stalled and snapped the tail off:'(a year's work went out in a stall so if i have a nive model i'd rather keep it on the ground.

Doug, i know of a couple of us who have this hobby, or at least plastic models.... i know Jaffa has a couple of R/C's and a free flyir of his own design. ROger has a few plastic models around the house, so do i, and ket does R/C's too.... i think there are more guys but i dont remember now.

I do R/C and plastic models. The guillows kit is my first rubber powered, and I have the P-38 guillows for display that I am absoluttly dreading to build. Great hobby but the R/C side gets expensive quick.

Actually Space, the pay for that add was in benefits....When I lived in Ontario, I did quite a bit of test and demo flying for SkyHooks and Rigging as the company was just starting up and getting established.

luck for you Ken, for now i have not been able to have abig collection of models, and lets not even go to R/C's.... because we move every other year (every 2 to 3) i have to keep my stuff counted and the moving boxes to a small amount.

i was wondering, how did u get that job?
