Cherokee_6,

those are some very scary and at the same time amuzing picures to look at. Some questions though:

Picture . . . 3 - - - How the heck did he get the plane into wires UPSIDE DOWN ??  :o ???

Picture . . . 8 - - - How can THAT happen on the sunny day with no cloud in sight ? ???

As Cherokee_6 said, those are some drop-out's indeed . . . ;D

whos to say the last picture was taken the day it happend? if you look its close to the shoreline so the water is unlikely to be deep, secondly the plane is nose up and abandoned so its been there a while and still not sunk. no doubt bad weather and a few other problems caused this.

CraigL,

I wil have to disagree with you.

I'd say it happened on the same day the picture was taken because if the plane lands on the water, it would only stay in the water for 20-30 minutes because the sealing is designed to keep the pressure inside of the plane, so that the air would not be coming out, but if the pressure is outside, for example the water . . . it will get into the plane, I'm not saying really fast, but in about 20-30 minutes, the plane will be full of water.

On the other hand, the submarine is made on the same principle but with the oposite results. The water is not able to get into the submarine, but if the submarine would be filled with water, it would eventually start to water out. Because the submarine isn't designed to keep the pressure inside of it, but to keep the pressure outside, not letting the water in.

I hope that isn't confusing, but here's the main point:

The plane is able to keep the pressure inside and not let the air out, but it is NOT ABLE to keep the water outside and keep the inside completely dry. That's why planes can't float.

There are special types of planes that can land on water and that's another story. ;)

HAHA! I have nooooo idea... ??? ??? ???

But I have to agree with CraigL. That water cant be deep otherwise the nose would be in the water too...

do you have an original link cherokee? it would be a simple case of searching for the incident after that

Exactly !!! ;D I was just trying to explain that the plane can't "float" in the water too long, but if the water is not deep, the plane of course can stay and "seem" to float ;D

Aalrighty, simmers, let's go take a swim and strip that plane into spare parts . . .  ;D Everyone would want a real throttle quadrant or some other "gadget" from a real plane . . .  ;D

The fourth ones taken in Kuala Lumpur Intl they actually managed to repair the plane within 2 weeks of that happening!
