Nice pictures you found, I especially like #2 because it has such a nice picture of Spitfire RGV "Gray Nurse"

Lovely pics there Pippin, err where these taken in Australia by any chance? Just I believe that is the home of Grey Nurse.

Amazing shots. I love to see the older warbirds at airshows.

Present day military jets are fine and dandy, but noting is as in your face as the brute force that was a WWII era fighter

Actually Mark, most of those are at Duxford. The formation shots are the Superb OFMC Breitling Fighters, and the B-17 is good old "Sally B" with TFC's P-47 as escort.
The Grey Nurse MkVIII is Australia's only current Airworthy Spit.

Right, thanks for clearing that up Roger. I thought they were on tour, not the Nurse ;)

I think at least shot #2 is in Australia or New Zealand. The scenery in shot #1 doesn't look like the UK.

PS. All excellent photos wherever they were taken.

Let me guess . . .

Great shots and those formations are very nice. ;)

My guess for shot #1 is Switzerland, with mountains that steep in the background. Flypast ran an article about one of their show appearances there last year. #2 Definately is in Oz

Nice to see the blue nosed Mustang (Robs Lamplough's) with Sally B too....

;DJust noticed . . . I never knew that Spitfires, mustangs and other war planes are considered airliners . . .

But on the other hand, it does fly, it can move a person from place to place, and I'm sure you can find some place for baggage. (for a small bag of fruits at least), so, I'd say it's considered an airliner !!! ;D ;)
