Concorde on Transit flight to Manchester.

Well, one of the Concordes is going to the Museum in Manchester. I went to Heathrow to see it leave this morning. It was scheduled to depart at 10:00, go ove Southampton, "hover" over Landsend for a while, and then head straight for Manchester. The time of landing was supposed to be 12:30, or course, flying subsonic.

Here's a pic, obviously I couldn't take many, it's a little bit too quick ;).

Thanks,

Jonathan

Great shot Jonathan, I'd send it over to airliners, I'm sure a lot of people will want to see it ;)

urmmm, prob not, as there are a few things i can pick out myself. firstly to much in the foreground if you crop them out of the image that may help.i am guessing you have a larger photo of that aswell?
if so submit both a none cropped on and the cropped on see if you have any luck

Also try jetphotos.net  they have a free forum where you can get advice on it for free. remember there are now 100s of concorde photos being submitted every day, so only the absolute best will get through
its def up there in quality though

OK - Thanks guys. I'll have a look on JetPhotos. Thing is the Viewing Gallery at Heathrow is ... well ... pathtic. It had two panes of glass in front of it! So we had to go further away to get an unobstructed view.

I will have a go at cropping it - shouldn't turn out too bad ;).

OK - here is the cropped version, should I keep it "screen dimensions"?

Of course this is reduced quality, this is 50% of the proper size.

I ahve to admit that this does look like I am standing very near the runway...

the background, was good, and should be kept in it was just the bit with the lights and that white thing.

GeForce. I think something like this would look better. Your crop is a tad too restricted for my liking. Not sure on the ideal size as as I don't know how big your original is. Maybe you should check with them first.

OK guys - how about this?

Oops. Sorry about too much crop :-[. On this one I had to take a little sky out because it looked very off balance. Feel free to tell me if I should have left it in ::). I found it actually looks better on 50% than on 100%. Starts to go slightly speckly at 100% ::).

That's better. It's your photo so do whatever you think best. I still think it's a great shot considering where you took it from. ;)

i think you've got it now:)
it was as i said before a stunning original shot. however anet screeners are very picky as to what they accept, as i have found out before.
Jetphotos are a little less uptight about it so your more likely there
