Had as many close calls with cyclists and pedestrians along those roads... ;D

Never hit either, because I know to slow down, keep an eye out, and use the horn (deer will respond to a horn- scares them).

I think you deserve an award for that.

One less hood a cyclist could end up on. Kudos!

Here in Germany, it would help no end if cyclists obeyed the rules of the road and did not ride about as if they owned the place. Also I am getting to the point when the next one rides up behind me on a path and rings his bell expecting me to jump into the hedge to let him by he will get............................ >:(

Well, he does nothing wrong by ringing his bell.

I suggest always having a short stick handy on all walks: simply insert it into the spokes of the front wheel as the cyclist passes, you and you will have made your point quite nicely. ;D

The way a lot of these cyclists ride, I'd feel worse about hitting a deer: after all, they don't know any better.

I used to be an avid cyclist, and tried my best to share the road wisely... but I don't represent the majority, that's for sure. ::)
And as a driver who used to ride every day, I tend to hold cyclists to a higher standard ...if there ain't no shoulder, don't expect me to go 20mph behind you... go ride somewhere else. I will toot the horn once and pass as close as i have to. Get the fuck out of my way, here I come. Period.

And what is it with these groups who refuse to ride in single file even with heavy auto traffic passing them?  >:(

Go home and watch "Breaking Away" for the 1,000th time, buttheads- I have someplace to be...

Im also a 'avid' cyclist, cycle about 12 miles a day at the moment...and HATE you car drivers that think you own the road, bikes have just as much rights to be there as you. I think its sad that just because we arn't lazy slobs, and actually make an effort to do our bit for the enviroment we get oppressed! And im gonna stop there, if i continue im sure I will say something that will get me banned!
