By the way, you said you found the exact same photo. Was it in a book called The Complete Encyclopedia Of World Aircraft?

:)  But the later version has more planes and the photo caption is within the photo.

Hi
I see I am a little slow responding to your quiz.
I came across your site accidently when looking for info on Macchi MB308.
I own a 308. It is the Italian built version, made in 1947.
Was originally built for military as a trainer.
Designer, Ermanno Bazzocchi (the "B" in MB.308), also designed the jet trainer Macchi MB326.
The Argentinians built them under licence from Macchi, around 1965 (I think). They call it the MB308G. I think the G stands for "German Bianco"...the Argentine builders. Main difference is the original Italian version has fuel tank behind cockpit. 308G has fuel tanks in wing (a-la-Cessna). This explains why 308G has extra rear windows.
I have many fotos of both versions, including the one you show "I-LATT". It still exists today in Italy.
I only know of about 6 of my type (308) still flying.
Mine is the only one in Australia.
It has 85hp Continental engine, wood Hoffman prop, alum cowls, wood fuselage, wood/fabric wings etc.
tyres are Vespa size. Tail fin/rudder looks like DeHav. Chipmunk's.
A friend of mine once owned the prototype 308 ("I-FABR"). It is stored in Italian museum.
I hope that was of some interest to you.

Allan - thanks for the "update" .  If possible, would you consider uploading a photo or two of your 308 - including interior photos?  There are some who would not mind updating an existing FS model, or creating a new one.

The 308 looks like a fun airplane in which to fly around!

Re the Macchi MB308/G types.... I have uploaded a handful of fotos (I have plenty if anyone wants more, or anything specific).
fotos:
Interior of tail, instr panel, French one, German one, Italian ones, also a recent one of I-LATT (the one in your quiz).
You can buy a 308G in Argentina for about US$16,000 .
The wing is one-piece, exactly 10 m long. My wing is presently standing on its leading edge in a support.
