the very occasional jet, 777 a330 757's from birmingham and so on. 747's heading south from the north. But all high up so not a great view. Instead I get the rumble of trains all day.
Although the police chopper is around alot. ;D

Gliders

when the wind is right, the approach for vienna international is just a few miles away so I can identify the type and airline in most cases. the best thing I saw was an old Ju-52 cruising over the city; apart from that, just normal air traffic (loads of fokker-70/100 and Dash Q300 though).

Sometimes I can hear a very very very loud propeller machine at around 2 or 3 A.M., but I never figured out who that may be.

I live close to Kastrup (EKCH), Scandinavias biggest airport. So if the wind is for Runway 04L and 04R, I see lots of planes,  but the most used runway for landing is 22L I believe, and with that approach I'll see nothing.. :P I'll get some of the departures from 22R though.. ;D

Mostly it's the small MD's (MD80 through 90), Airbus A320/330/340, Boeing 737, ATR-72 and Dash 8..

Sometimes (very rare) two F-16's will come roaring down the beach (K

Common: Cessnas and Pipers of all kinds from Leicester (EGBG). Mainly single engined trainers, and small twin engined aircraft (like the Baron). Many airliners flying thousands of feet overhead, or ones at around 5-10,000ft approaching East Midlands Airport.
On occasion: Chipmunk, Yak-50, Tiger Moth.
Rare: Chinook, Gazelle, the odd Lynx. Used to sometimes get Tornados flying in the distance from Cottesmore, but no longer :( Vintage types of all kinds (Spitfires, DC-3s, Antonov AN-2s)
One offs: Sea Vixen, Vampire, the Red Arrows(!).

Pretty much the same here. I used have the planes going over my house when they were landing on RWY 27 at East midlands, but since they changed the flight routes in May 2005 they fly about 6 miles away from where i live.  :(

Forbes Field Air National Guard base is only a few miles from my house.  It is home to the 190th Air Refueling Wing.  So on certain days my house gets buzzed many times by the KC-135 tankers doing touch and go's out at the air field.  Ocasionally there will be some smaller fighter planes (  I think they are trainers but not sure) and once in a great while the B2 does a fly over and shakes the entire house !!!
One of these days I will catch some pictures of them and post for all to see.

I live in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and they line up for their approach to runways 27L and 26 over my neighborhood.
This is what I see everyday and I love it! ;D

Consatant C-130s, the occasional KC-135, RC-135, and even an L1011 once. Daily GA planes, theres a Mooney that likes to cruise over where I work, a Piper Warrior owned by the FBO, Beechcraft Barons, and Cessna 310s. I once saw an unpainted Vans RV of some sort, possibly on his maiden flight. And every once in a blue moon I will see a pair of T-38s following a 130. And how could I forget that B-52 I saw once. I only saw him from a distance, but theirs no mistaking a B.U.F.F. ;)

P.S. Also the National guard helicopters: AH-1s and AH-64s every once in a while.

I live in Belgium, not to far from Pampa Range (military shooting range for fighter jets) in Helchteren.
During summertime, if the weather is good, I can see the planes dive and climb. Mostly F-16's, Tornados and A-10's.
When the A-10's return home to their base in Germany, they always fly directly over my house. They sound so great, I love them.  :D

Closest navaid to my home is SPY vor... when you go there you can see how various companies adhere to the airway.

KLM and Martinair like to fly up to the VOR until you can't reliably track it (2NM or so), while most foreign planes start their turn way earlier
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur
