You never know what will show up on display days. I believe they've had a visit from a Harrier in the past although I never saw it. A RAF Jaguar blasted through last season & they don't come much faster or noisier than that.

I've seen various things appear over the years, and it seems that the amount of RAF/RN heavy (jet) metal has decreased. I think that Shuttleworth has "lost out" to the greater number of "smaller" shows and venues that have appeared over the past decade, and who rely heavily on the MoD's assets. Thankfully, Old Warden has enough home owned aircraft to make every display different, and enough spare cash/pilots who have other connections as Doug said (eg RNHF, some of the smaller Duxford operators, BAE SYSTEMS etc).

I hope so Tweek. Maybe I can convert you to an appreciation of real aeroplanes. :D

Ah, you should get yourself down (or up :P) to Bruntingthorpe on an open day, have your ears blasted out by a Lightning fast taxi run! Not only are you deafened by the noise of the Avons in full afterburner, you get the sea of car alarms afterwards!

Been there, got the T-shirt. I bet you've never seen a formation take-off by 9 Lightnings or 3 Vulcans. That was nothing unusual in the good ol' days. :P 8)

Sadly I doubt we'll ever see anything like it again.

Very nice Doug. I may well be down at Old Warden next Sunday.

I recognise that man! I had the privilege of being in the back of an Alpha Jet with the chap on the starbord wing!

Sorry Charlie. I somehow missed this as we went on to a new page. I had an idea that might be the chap. Did I ever tell you you're a very lucky chap yourself, you jammy devil? :P :D

Might see you next Sunday then? Hope the weather plays ball.

All being well I'll be there, unless I break something beforehand (leg or worse)... :)
