Totally agog at this latest bunch!! Even a CriCri!! And another Gemini!!  Etc!! See a lot of Ercoupes around here;
it'd be a decent first airplane for somebody like me (with the rudder-pedal conversion, of course!), but yes, it is not idiot-proof. I've heard of at least one Ercoupe pilot who met his doom mushing into terrain; it won't stall or spin, but it'll glide like a rock if you let it. And without the rudder conversion, you have to touch down crabwise in a crosswind... trailing-link mains, but I'll bet you could snap that nosegear off without much trouble, landing that way.

Thanks for allowing some of us pathetic no-lifers to enjoy the British vintage flying season vicariously... ;D

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

The Dove and Heron are two of my favorite prop aircraft.

As to the Ercoupe, I was sorely tempted to convince my wife to invest in one that was for sale here in Orlando a few years back for about USD17K.  It was in quite nice condition, with modernized instrumentation, and "standard" controls (i.e., with rudder pedals,etc).  Originally it was desiged with coordinated aileron and rudder (to put it in flightsimspeak), without rudder pedals, but popular demand had the manufacturers (Alon, and later Mooney) develop a modification kit to add "normal" rudder pedals, and controls.
