
They have the same problem at the Nats, the UK national R/C championships. I know a few of the chaps that go regularly & they call it the "halo factor". Once someone has a reputation the judges overlook little obvious faults that would disqualify anyone else. This means they always end up winning & the others never stand a chance. I imagine it's much the same in any competition where judging depends on someone's personal opinion.

i would have thought with all the time you have spent round aircraft Doug you would have known that. Or were you young and ignorant and refused to wear them round running aircraft?I did many times when on the base round Wallop, but have been lucky in that it hasnt effected my hearing too much.
More & more people at this type of show are packing ear defenders nowadays. Good idea especially for the little ones.
