Actually, that's the place I was thinking of- had the names mixed up.  Now am I right in understanding that you can fly in to Republic to visit the museum? That'd be a fun day trip...with a landing at Montauk or a "Hudson Scenic" just for the hell of it.

Man, that Corsair is everywhere! I saw it flying around the other day 'cause it was so nice. Getting time to go see it again. I saw it at Sussex (NJ, Doug ) last year. I hope it's there again this year. It did a nice montage with a Sandy..

Also that P-47 I saw at the Willow Grove Airshow about 3 years ago. I guess he was late, cause he landed after the skydivers did, and after they played the National Anthem.. I'll look for a shot of it.

i know those!! i sat on the cockpit of both of those!!! theyr home base was republic field LI, i dunno if theyr still there, i used to go visit every time i could... hahaha! i met the jackie that the jug was named after, and she told me the story behind the jug!
