Many British military types are named after towns. Most Percival aircraft names started with the letter P. So there you have it. Quite logical really.![]()

Could've been worse...
How about the MB Melton-Mobray or Milton Keynes, or the Bristol Bath (how confusing)

Could've even had the Percival Pratts-Bottom - a place that wasn't too far away from one of Percival's pre-war haunts at Gravesend.
