The Merlin and Griffon look good. However, my favorite there just has to be the Napier Sabre. That thing just looks indestructable! ;D

Just a shame the damn thing was so unreliable. Strange old thing the Sabre. That photo shows the 24 cylinder flat H arrangement quite well.

Well, Napier wern't really ones for building engines with the traditional V layout.

Take a look at the cylinder and piston set up in the Deltic.

Hey Bjorn:

What happened to the old VW air cooled out of the back of VW Beetles.

I saw them on most homebuilts in the 50s and 60s.

They are still using them :)

D'oh....yup,they do have some pics of german warbirds.

But the 109 equipped with a RR Merlin (link) is just plain ugly....*shakes*  :P
