Got a Harley

Postby ShaneG_old » Wed Apr 01, 2009 12:03 pm

I went and got my new toy for the summer the other day, economy be damned. ;)

1982 Harley Davidson Roadster 1000 with a drag kit!

Not the best looker around, but it's a real one, and boy is it loud! :o ;D

I went looking through a HD catalog today for various addons (old habits die hard :D ) and I now believe that HD really stands for Hundreds of Dollars. ;D ;D

Sorry for low quality, these were taken with my cellphone. :-[

I assume you'll be spending most of your nights on the couch after Mrs. Shane finds out... ;D

She was the deciding factor in this one. ;)

It was either this, or a new computer built for FSX, and she preferred this, as it's something we can both enjoy. ;D

Going to use her camera to take some better shots later. ;)

Very nice bike! Harleys just look good!

Now you need that t-shirt... saying... "if you can read this, the b*tch fell off" on the back...  ;D

Nice, but I'm afraid I'm more of a Honda and Kawasaki man myself ;)

Lovely bike there Shane, One thing you could look into for it is a set of "slash cut" pipes for added loudness :D

Ozzy: If you look in the second pic you can see my Suzuki 850GS Full dresser (sort of)

Nemo: hard to tell from the first shot, but it has them, slashed un-baffled drag pipes! ;D The neighbours hate it. ;D

A fellow over the road from where my mum lives has a "screaming eagle" with straight through pipes on it... Can hear it coming from a fair distance away... also the same with his Dragstar 1100 :D.

Take it easy on the bike :D

Are you intentionally trying to get Foz going ?

I gotta stick with Paul, Mark, and now Andrew on the sportier look ......at least wear good head gear when you ride, and not the traditional beanie... ::)

The bad part is this bike was built for speed. I just want a cruiser, but the price was right. ;)

The bike originally came with a 1000cc stock, but has been warmed over to 1200cc and has a twin coil ignition system, high flow drag pipes, the only Edelbrock motorcycle carburetor I've ever seen, and a few other non essential items. :-/

Most of my work will be undoing all the speed stuff. :(

I've had the sporty death traps, now I want a loud cruising death trap. ;D
