JFK action 8/1/08: The Mounds/A380

Postby flyboy 28 » Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:02 pm

Yet another runway change lead to "The Mounds"... a somewhat secluded area next to a park in Rosedale superb for 22L arrivals. It was a game-time decision to catch the A380 because it was either coming in on 22L or 13L due to taxiway turnoff capabilities or whatever. Fortunately, we all (30 of us) made the right decision to go to The Mounds as opposed to back to Bayswater.

Here she is. I cannot even retell the amount of curses that were shouted as the sun ducked behind the sun for about a minute before it came in... and then came back out about 30 seconds after it touched down. ::)

And here's the crew. I'm the one who's face color matches the shirt. :P

Next- Finishing up at Bayswater again

Fourth to the left from me, orange hat? I remember him saying he was from Philly but I can't remember his name. John? Joe?

And yeah, I've been buzzing my hair every week now. It's cheap and aerodynamic. 8-)

Terrific shots!  The 380 is supposed to be here in San Fran this friday, hoping to get to SFO and take some shots of it, but I have no idea what time it's arriving and we're supposed to be going to the rifle range that day for training so I dont know if I will catch it

Despite the weathern still a nice shot on the A380.

Scary looking bunch overthere... I bet the pilots get a bit of stagefreight when they near JFK!  ;D ( look at all those pretty white lenses...)

Based off it's registration, no. But I'll check ACARSD.
