Air Combat USA!

Postby Peanut1234 » Sat Aug 26, 2006 3:44 pm

Hey guys,

As some of you may know, for my birthday gift, my dad took me to Air Combat USA. They use real Marchetti SF.260's and you "dogfight" your enemy in 6 engagements. There are no dogfight pics, because there's no way that you could dogfight and take a pic, so just some formation shots there and back. My dad took these pics.

Me in briefing.

Heading back, me leading now.

A little farther in, almost at Boeing Field.

I had a great time, I will post the movie soon.

Comments welcome!

Hey dude!

Went up with my dad about six months ago-had the time of my life!  Our 260s were red though-strange.  Either way, glad you had a good time, I know we had a blast-my dad now wants to make it an annual father-son dogfight event ;D (we tied 3-3 last time, only because I busted the hard deck by about two feet will shooting him down :P and for the record, I took the first two and the last one, so as far as I can tell, I am the clear victor ;D )

Very nice photos, and sure you are lucky, but I am wondering about one thing.. How was you allowed to fly a aircraft that big?
I thought you should be atleast 18 or something, but you looks like that you are 13, maximum 14!! :o

And did you takeoff, fly and land the aircraft, all by yourself?

Then I take my hat off for you :)

Cool shots Snowbird, that must've been a really great day, i'm green with envy!!!!

Now I hope you've got the SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 by Realair Simulations so that you can fly the flights again at home.

Cheers,

TSC.

You fly with ex-fighter pilots Theis, you're not all alone up there! ;D

And did you takeoff, fly and land the aircraft, all by yourself?

Even though I had about 30 hours in a 172 at the time I did it, they still took care of the takeoffs and landings, especially since they fly a military pattern (if possible).

Smart dad... now he doesn't have to give you another birthday present for the rest of your life! ;D

That's on my to-do list; the Marchetti is a sweet plane, and dogfighting must be a lot of fun!

So... what kind of maneuvers did they show you?
