The Utterly Butterly team get two threads, but the Victor and Canberra have to share? :-/ ;D

Nice topside of the Canberra, anyway!

What wonderful aircraft the Victor and Canberra are.

Over the years there were many aircraft I always wanted to fly in and they are two of them, the third would have been the Vulcan.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Nice shots, I really liked the Canberra display, with its added "Explosive Power" ;D

Okay, one more of the Canberra ;D

It had glossy black undersides, against that sky it was just a silhouette most of the time!

Is the Victor the one on #1 and #2? That plane is very impressing, it looks heavy but dangerous at the same time, and this in spite of his weird shape. I love it :D.

Great shots ;).

The Victor is airworthy but not allowed to fly  >:(

It did a high speed taxi, and opened the throttles while holding the brakes on which was very noisy and very satisfying - you can see the heat haze in the 2nd photo.  Unfortunately the pilot went a bit too fast, and the airfield fire engines were quickly summoned to the far end of the runway where the Victor's brakes were smoking!  After a few minutes they gave the all clear, and the Victor came back for another pass but used the braking parachute this time.  I'll post a pic of that if anyone wants it.

This Victor (XL231, Lusty Lindy) was repainted this year, she looks great!  She took part in the Gulf War in 1990, flew to the Museum in 1993, and is now kept in flying condition by a team of dedicated volunteers.  More info at www.lustylindy.co.uk

Nice series. I think your first Canberra shot is the best of the lot.

Have to agree with Tweek there. You can get at least 5 images in every topic.

I only had a 1GB memory card, I figured 287 shots would be enough - wrong!  Early in the day I was snapping away at the Catalina quite happily, but as the day went on I became more conservative.  There was so much to point the camera at!  I particularly wanted to save some room for the Utterly Butterlys so I tried not to use the last 50 images.  Then I was keeping the last 40.  Then the last 30.  When they finally did arrive I was down to 24 shots!

Next payday I'm going to buy a few more memory cards.
