So... I guess it's safe to say you are already a little obsessed with detail as regards this project...  ::)
But I am impressed. I think you should just go ahead and build an airplane... if you have even a single-bay garage, there are a lot of options. I have the space, but I'd have to remove a window and somehow lower my creation 4 stories when it's done, so I've been putting it off.  ;D

I don't see a real plane happening.  As fun as it would be, I have no way to fabricate the metal pieces and probably couldn't afford an engine anyway.   :(  I think I could on a smaller scale though with some snips, a grinder and a drill...
