Looking for some new gear

Postby BigTruck » Mon Dec 06, 2010 3:26 am

I've been shooting a Sony Alpha 200 for 3 years now and it's time to upgrade.   The Sony has been great to me and I plan on keeping it for a long time as a field camera, but I'm ready to upgrade now and came very close to buying a Nikon D90 tonight, but decided to research a little first.

What I'm looking for: I don't need video, just bought a camcorder.  I just want to upgrade picture quality, a good sensor, would not mind sticking with Sony since I have a few of their lenses already, but I am more than willing to switch to Canon or Nikon.  Like I said though, I don't need to spend money on a video camera, I want a picture shooting camera.

Just looking for pointers here, I think I am the only one here shooting Sony since they are so new to the SLR world, but pointers on Nikon and Canon, along with estimate prices/kits would help, I am researching on my end but I haven't used any of these so I want to hear from you.
Alienware X51_R2 (thank you wife) Windows 8.1, 6GB Ram, Intel Core i3-4150 CPU @3.50GHz

Really can't go wrong with a big name in Photography equip.....for the un-initiated......
Once you define your needs it's easy to find a camera which will fill the requirements..........that's the reason I use what I have now..........
