ADF Airshow Williamtown~Prt1

G'day,
Last weekend was the annual Australian Defence Force airshow and this year it was held at Williamtown AFB just outside of Newcastle. A great variety of aircraft were on show including the debut of the RAAF's F/A-18F Super Hornets and the last public display of the RAAF's F-111.

I attended the Saturday show and was very impressed by the flying program with a number of never to be repeated, unique to Australia formation displays. 8-)

You lucky sod. I was going to try and make the trip to Williamtown, but something came up the day before the show.

Now I have to make a trip to Amberley this December to watch the F-111 retire. I hope they do a dump and burn.

Thought you might enjoy these James. Sorry to hear you didn't make it though, weather was perfect. I've been to a fair few airshows and I rate this one pretty high.

Mate these are some excellent pictures. Spewing i missed out on going to Williamtown. I'm off to avalon again next year. Did you by chance happen to take any pics of the f-111 doing a dump and burn as it did a missed approach>

It was actually straight after a touch & go and surprised the hell out of all of us, we thought he was landing.
