The floor polish (it's not really polish...more of a cleanable coat for laminate floors) is basically cheap gloss varnish....protects the paint and gives a nice flat surface for the transfers...subsequent coats are to seal everything in.

It also impoves the transparent parts and can be used as a replacement in cases such as airliner windows (surface tension keeps the klear spread over the window which then sets and looks like a proper window :P )

Clever. I must remember that. I'll have to look out the Airfix Concorde kit my brother got me for a birthday pressie about 20 years ago. Might be an interesting little winter project.
