I know, I know.....too many motorbike images.....but these may be relevant on this aviation site..........

Yesterday, a friend and I decided to take a ride to a potential lunch spot, just to check it out as an option when things get busy at the more open and common places in the mountains. This one is quite hidden and you'll never find it if you're not the "explorer" type of traveller....
Once we got to the destination, I was overwhelmed by the sight across the water from the marina and the magnificent view from the deck....Too bad it was so busy that we never stayed to eat - but I now know about the place and will be returning with a better camera than my point 'n shoot.......

Here is what I saw as we walked away from the parked bikes.........wait, what's that across the lake........?

Image

.....a higher vantage point showed how far it is across there.....

Image

And the view from the balcony starts to show some of the marina and rental houseboats..........

Image

I know that this is not great, but it does show that the Martin Mars flyingboat water bomber situation is still working towards some operational readiness........

Wow, look at the size of those things compared to the Big Rig sitting there.  Great find Ken!

This does re-affirm that they are in fact, still residing on our island....for the time being, that is ...........

I read somewhere that one of the Mars had already gone, so much for efficient journalism ::)

Blimey Ken! Drive around the lake, hire a boat, swim across if you are up to it, but man, give us a better look at those beautiful, enormous planes!
