Lots of stations have their runways close to mainroads etc, so yeah, putting up red lights is fairly common.


I like the first one. Lots of detail and it looks really good.

We had that at MCAS Kaneohe, had to cross the runway to get to the other side of the base, it was set up like a railroad crossing.  If they were doing touch and goes you could expect to sit for a long time  ::)

I like the first one. Lots of detail and it looks really good.


Land on the numbers at Brize and you're about 50 yards from the road...

...more importantly, you're there for take off too, so that road is very close to jet blast!

What a nice aeroplane that is. :)

Mic, you're always on about not getting a 727, but I'd kill to get a DC-8 during daylight. :P

It's the same at Filton with the A38...they just tell the crew not to engage full power until they pass a certain point :P

They probably don't get many max weight take offs at Filton! :)

Never was one much for jets especially commercial suck and blows but that VC10 is right high on my list next to the Vulcan and Victor.   ;)

That DC-8 looks like its smiling.  I don't think I've ever noticed the big vents on the nose before.

1 and 3 are excellent, as usual Mic. :) Now number 4 would make a good base image for an edit - i.e removing the VC10 and incorporating an Fs VC20 methinks! ;D
