737 pulse jet

Postby expat » Wed Dec 31, 2008 5:17 am

A couple of shots showing whats under the primary exhaust nozzle. We had to replace this one the other night. Looks like a pulse jet is hidden inside ;D.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Indeed, the effects of heat are quite apparent in there.....also, on the tail cone you can clearly see the straight flow in the area of that twin row of rivets, after the stators do their job......nice shots...

That is hard to say, as it will depend on what the engine is doing at the time. At idle you will see around 430 degrees C, but that depends on whether you have bleed selected, packs on or anti ice. Of course, with an increase in throttle position the temperature will increase, take off 675 ish. However these temperatures are turbine temperatures and not jet pipe temperatures, so it will be a little cooler back here.
