CH-53 ride, Hawaii Style

Postby BigTruck » Mon Oct 20, 2008 12:01 am

I sure do miss Hawaii, started going through old pics of mine and figured I would post some, here's a few from one of my many '53 rides up on the big island, this one was in preperation of a FARP (Forward Air Refueling Point) insertion.  These were taken before I had my DSLR (using a Canon A620 point and shoot)

Yes that is snow in Hawaii

"The bird's here" and the last one are really good. I like the ones with the troops too.

Always loved that chopper. I can remember a Middle Wallop airshow once, we were out for lunch at school, right next to the airfield, and they had a practice for one of these going on, amazing how agile it is for its size.
