The Humber Bridge and a helicopter

I thought these quite nice, considering i took them on my phone yesterday whilst sat on Hessle Foreshore on the north bank. The view is of the 'south tower' in the first - its built in the water whilst the north 'tower' is built on land.

For some time the largest single span suspension bridge in the world - as a kid in the 1970's can recall crossing this river on a ferry (a paddle steamer at that!) one of which is now moored on the thames., and watched the bridge getting built during  various stages of construction.

A bit of a white elephant, considering the road network that would have linked it all eventualy down to the M11 i understand, never went ahead - and with horrendous toll charges, its nonetheless still quite a sight.

Then all of a sudden a coastgaurd/search and rescue helicopter came screaming past at low level, but this was the only shot i got of it because my phone isnt fast enough and when it was right in front of me i was sat in my works vehicle! It flew under the bridge then dissapeared!
