Hands on Learning

Postby a1 » Thu Aug 09, 2007 5:04 pm

The aviation section of where my dad works. This is actually a classroom. To bad all the neat tools and other aircraft parts were locked up.

I have been told that this is the engine of a 747-xxx. Can some one tell me what it is and what plane model.

Most likely a PW JT9D
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

it's not a JT9, I would say a CF6-80, and the landing gear is a 747 body gear with lot's of things missing

Are you sure it's from a 747? I thought the gear would be bigger for a 747? :-?

the 747's bodygear is not that big, I mean tall, nut it's true that the wheels on the pic are not that big, but it could still be from a -100 or -200.

I'm not 100% sure anyway....

I had a closer look today at work, and I've to reckon you must be right, the gear is not from a 747... :-[
