Very nice pictures, but how the times have changed. I remember when you would have had a greater chance of knitting wool than seeing a 51 Sqn Nimrod at an air display. Back in the 70's and 80's my dad was an MAEop on 51 and could not even get a 12 year old a look in the cockpit (I had to make do with the scout hut at Wyton instead..................a Comet Mk4)

I suppose in the same vain, nowadays you don't have a chance of seeing an MR.2 flying at an air display, when a few years back it was a regular display item! Bear in mind the Nimrod R.1 is based at Waddington, and they always try to send up the home team for the airshow (with the addition of the Sentinel this year).
