Another day at school

Postby DaveSims » Fri Dec 15, 2006 8:03 pm

Some shots from my training for my job.  I will never look at school the same.

Just think about us the next time you fly, and hope we don't have to meet.  :)

My instructor's words, "Put the water on the fire, not the firefighters.  Works just about everytime."   ;D

Looks like fun... and don't worry, if I ever find myself in a burning airliner on the ground, ill be outta there long before you guys arrive... ;D
Didn't realize that they used mock-ups, although I'ce seen real hulks burned for training purposes... very sensible, as the real ones burn too well, and have to be replaced. ;D

Yeah, real aircraft are made out of aluminum and melt down rather quickly, hard to reuse.  The mockup we used is all steel and has hundreds of gas lines running through it to simulate fire.  They can do amazing things with it.  Its all controlled by a computer and a pyro maniac.
