Perfect Sunday for flying: part 6

A very pleasant and uneventful flight. Here's some random pax-view images.

Descending into the pattern at Linden...

On downwind for 27. The airport is under the second tier of the KEWR Class B... just north of the field, not far beyond those oil-storage tanks, is "No Man's Land": it drops from "plus 800" to 500 to provide some leeway on the Newark Rwy 04 L/R glideslope, then it's surface to 7000 MSL. This could take some getting used to, but I'm glad I got a chance to ride in here to have a look- it's not as bad as I thought.

All that's required is to keep the pattern tight and do NOT go above 850 MSL.

Whoa, what is that unussual building in the second shot? Some sort of research-center? Surely that isn't a sign for any extra-terrestrial visitors, is it?  ;D

I'm not sure what it is, or exactly where it is.

Hmmm....can't be that many crop-circle inspired Alien landing sites in the NYC/NJ area can there ???

That odd set of buildings is garden state youth correctional facility.
Had to use google earth to find that out.
Did a straight line from airport to airport, and it is roughly  40

I know that feeling, so easy to stay awake, so difficult to drag sorry self up in the morning. Doesn't help to have a 3 and 5 year old come marching in at 6am demanding cbeebies ::)

Still, that's another thread, and doesn't detract from how jealous Sean's photos are making me!

Have you got nothing better to do at weekends than rush around enjoying yourself Sean? ;D

I'm sorry... if it's any consolation, I almost envy anybody who is a dad. But not really. ;D
But as you have seen, you can have young 'uns and still fly... and Mark was all clear  to pick up some beer and watch the Steelers game when he got home (after a few chores, no doubt).
Flying can be a family thing, with a little extra work.
