Fine-looking Husky. they are smart and very trainable, as well as beautiful.
But they are definitely a little less removed from their wolf roots than many other breeds: a friend of mine grew up with his family's husky, and while they were as close as littermates, like a litter-brother this dog would openly challenge him from time to time, beyond normal play. Scared the hell out of him a few times, although he always managed to get the dog to submit, and it would be forgotten until the next time he felt like challenging the "pack hierarchy".
Probably just that particular dog's personality, but the occasional confrontation is definitely part of their social behavior; it keeps the pack in good order by making sure those with dominant roles are strong enough to hold their place.

Thanks. Have you or will you be getting another dog? Myself, I'm planning to avoid that when Peg passes, at least until I find someplace to really settle down. It's like having a kid who never really grows up...it'll be lonesome, but I'll need a break from that whole responsibilty thing.
But if I hit the lottery or something, I'd have a big spread somewhere with a whole pack of dogs... ;D

O'l  Bandit died last January,  he had a massive heart attack.  He was thirteen and a half years old.
I am divorced and have no kids,  so I am basically all by myself on my own,  hence the name FreedomHays.
I lived in the Florida Keys and Pompano Beach with the ex for eight years before moving back here to the suburbs of Baltimore.  I have lots of fishing and scuba buddies down in Key Colony beach on the keys.
So as I am free I am once again I am contemplating a move back to the Conch Republic.  the salt air really does get in your skin and blood.
The place is so romantic also.
Although I love dogs, Bandit was my second,  The Keys are really no place for a dog.  It's hot all year and lots of bugs, and sharp coral.  I've seen all kinds of dogs down there and they all really look miserable.
Maybe another time for me,  when I'm old I guess.
