ORA 9-30-06 part 4

Some more statics: gotta love this DVII replica.

And the poor Jenny; victim of her own wonderfulness.      Here's hoping somehow, someday, she's allowed to fly again.

Normally the Caudron and other more kite-like nonflyers are trotted out on Saturdays, but I guess because of the ideal conditions today and the threat of much rain for Sunday, they decided to put the fighters up instead. This one used to fly a great deal, too... I suspect now that Coles Palen's gone, nobody here has the nerve to try to coax it up over the trees. What an interesting bit of craftsmanship it is... and pretty darn old for a replica.

The Albatros was not flying today; not sure why.

They had a good-sized crowd today, but even before the announcer gets down from the tower, most of them have  vanished. It's really starting to look like a good downpour is brewing...

A not-often- seen view of the crowd line looking north, with a few stalwarts wating in hopes of a New Standard ride or just to soak it all in.

The show is over, but the spell is not broken yet. Hey kid, you can come down off the high-wheeler now... well, I'll be- he's having fun !! My hat's off to him- not only could he get up on it (I don't think I could), he could pedal around despite the fact that his feet came off the pedals as they went down! :D
He could have a bright future flying old airplanes... ;D
That's an authentic WWI Renault tank, BTW... it occasionally sputters into life to participate in the show on Sundays.

Next: part 5!

Great shots in all your post, Sean!! :)

What a awesome group of flying machinces!! :)

Are you going to post the video you took later?

Yeah, it'll be awhile... it's a laborious process with my setup. I'll probably do some work on it today...
but the balloon-bursting and Flying Farmer stuff will be a different clip- I have an idea for music for that one, so it'll take longer.
These crappy clips don't just put themselves together, y'know! ;)
