Maybe I can head up to the Aerodome in two weeks. Have to head north to New Hampshire for a wedding next week. :P

Patience, patience... I've been busy: went flying this morning.
Oh, sorry. ::)

;D

How was it flying this morning?  The weather sucked in the morning and now it's beautiful!!

Preflighted in steady drizzle and plenty of standing water... did you know, BTW, that the SP has 13 fuel drain valves?
Took off in schpritzing drizzle; coupla circuits, then off to the west for some steep turns, etc... wish I'd taken some pictures, because the low clumps of scud were beautiful in the morning light.
But it was a checkout ride... a very good lesson, in the end. This guy knew just where to probe: he somehow knew that I'd been neglecting to practice steep turns and landing engine-out from abeam the numbers. ;D
Had to power out of the first one, but only because the whole pattern was sh*t... made two moredecent  arrivals with the throttle closed from abeam the numbers, and that felt real good. :)

It was as much a review as a rental checkout, and I needed it. Always do, I guess... like most pilots. ;)

Of course, as soon as I had her tied down, the sun came out and the clouds all excused themselves and split. Amazing.

Still don't know how to work the King GPS and the autopilot, but I"ll bone up on the manuals for both before I mess with any of that.
Can't see using the AP until I start working on my IR: this 172 trims out real nice and is heavy enough to stay solid in bumps. I do know how to make sure it's not on... ;D

Got it booked 1500-1800 next Sunday- maybe I'll head down your way if you want to enjoy a Skyhawk with leather seats and a new engine... ;D
