West and wewaxation at wast? part 2!

Postby beaky » Fri Sep 22, 2006 6:29 pm

Totally forgot about the rest of my scintillating camping series, having gotten sidetracked with the Golden Age Air Museum photos...

My one-night expedition to western MD continues: the weather is not too bad yet, but definitley not improving. I begin to realize that I am on the edge of the front, and it is not the nice edge. ;D

The park is huge, and there are a few winding dirt roads threaded through it... it's dry as a bone there the day I arrive; no rain in quite some time, I guess.

Good thing I've come today to go camping and maybe use the telescope... bringing rain with me, as usual.  ::)

Rain is looming, and as very distant thunder rumbles, i get the camp set up. Looking forward to sleeping in the big tent for a change- good thing I thoroughly waterproofed it when I first got it...

Another camping first for me: I brought a chair (not knowing there'd be a picnic table). Must be getting old.

Got my Klein Tools BBQ set a while ago; been dying to use it. The bottle opener. of course, was well broken-in already... ;D

A visitor; one of many: a huge katydid.

The advantage of heiniken is that you can drink lots of it without getting drunk ;D

It was the biggest one I've ever seen: about 4" long, I kid you not.
