Thanks for all the comments.

I think Doug meant that the DoB B-25 was at Dunsfold as a tribute the 320Sqn aircrew, not that it flies as a tribute to them in general... :)

Sorry I should have explained. Most of the aircraft at the show had some connection (however remote) to Dunsfold. The DoB B-25 was damaged just before the show last year so it couldn't make it. Good to see it this year.

The B-25's withc were flown from Dunsfold by 320sqn were B-25 C's. My grandfather was a navigator/gunner on one!

Yes, I remember you telling me that now. ;)

Yea, and the americans have the.. Harrier :D ;)

Yes we do, but it is a VERY modified version of the Brit version, and was even made by an American company (McDonnell-Douglas)-(Now Boeing).  However, in about 7 years, there will be no more American Harriers.

And regarding the Mustang, thats what made the Mustang the Mustang, was that Merlin.  Thank god, because that Allison that they had in the A and B models just sucked.

As far as what the Brits have now of ours, C-130s and a few Sentry Awacs Aircraft.  Also, you guys are getting 4 C-17 Globemaster III's.

Regarding the Aussie comment, they have two or three squadrons of our old F-111s. (Still a great bird) And they have about six squadrons of F/A-18 Legacy Hornets (A and B models).  Not to mention the countless C-130s and P-3 Orion's that they have.

Quite a few of them, both the older "K" model, and the newer "J"...

and a few Sentry Awacs Aircraft.

Seven of them. They're each named after one of the seven dwarfs! ;D

We already have them. We'll be getting a fifth in 2008...

We also have the TriStar, Sentinel from Raytheon and the Bling Air from Beechcraft...
;D

As for the Harriers, we know that the Harrier II was certainly a joint project, but it was originally (back in the early 60s) a Hawker Siddeley airframe design and Bristol engine! ;) ;D We just got you to pay for it... ;) ;D

And thanks to a very nice man at the gates I got to see one of the Hawker P1127 Prototypes at  Dunsfold some years ago!

Yep, great little AC that I have gotten the pleasure of riding in.  British design but built by McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing)
