Arlington EAA Fly-In

Postby Boss_BlueAngels » Mon Jul 10, 2006 12:48 am

Ok, here is the next performer!!  John Mrazek and his beautiful T-6 Texan!  Well, if you want to be technical, it's a Harvard Mark IV, "Pussycat II"

For a 6,000 lb airplane, this guy sure makes it look like it was built for aerobatics!!

And next we have up... uumm... un-named performer in a gorgeous Su-52!  Unfortunately the website doesn't even have this guy listed... so sad... but man was this airplane incredible!
Image

And here she is glistening in the sun in all her torque-rolling splendor!  Er.. um.. well climbing up to do the torque roll.   That airplane's still got a bit of heat on it.

Next we have a team of two!  Ken Fowler (top aircraft with dark blue) and Eric Hansen (bottom aircraft with checkered rudder) in their home-built aircraft!
These two guys actually put on a pretty good show!  I was impressed!  They had many opposing maneuvers and even a few opposing loops where they crossed at the top and bottom!

Last but not least, a Dornier Alphajet!!  Finally, I was able to see a European jet fly! lol  There are about three of those guys based up at Arlington.  Man, those are incredible little jets!  Nice lines, nice noise, and FAST!

Here are a couple of snaps as she took off!

This was my attempt at centering a mountain in the picture as well as the jet.  But hey, if I was to get one of the two, I'm just glad it was the JET and not the mountain! haha

So there you have it folks!  A real quick synopsis of the airshow at Arlington!

I hope you enjoyed them and I'll be posting them up on my site (along with several more) in the near future..

And with that... on Wednesday I'm heading off to Hillsboro Oregon for the Oregon International Airshow!  My rough estimate is about another 4,000 images by this time next week. lol
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.
