I have that EXACT model, just a bit smaller scale. :) And it dosen't come with Dauntlesses, I think it's just a generic fighter. Looks good. ;)

I thought the idea was to paint all the bits first. :P

You beat me to it... I hesitated, 'cuz it's been so long since I built a plastic model kit (in a haze of toluol fumes...) I wan't sure if I remembered it right! ;D

First: paint all parts while still on trees (much easier to handle that way, how about that?
Second: cut parts off trees with knife or nail clippers
Third: file flash off; touch up paint.
Etc.

Good luck painting inside the hangar deck... ! ;D

Of course, the whole thing is gray already... maybe swab some thinner on it to give it that "weathered" look and call it done... ;D

You only paint the fiddly bits first. Course, you often get carried away. ;D

Looks great anark, though as a person who has assembled a few of those, including CVN 65 (nuclear USS Enterprise)  model which is about 2 feet 9 in long, I'd say that some parts should be painted before assembly.

Though I wouldn't paint them all like rotty said, sometimes you have to glue them together, and the glue that I have at least apparently work as a solvent as well, so I get a really messy spot on the model.

Also, you'll find out that the painting is nothing, nothing like placing the decals: at least on my Enterprise they are about a foot long, several of the severed when I was placing them on.

Anyway, looks like you did a great job on assembly, good luck post some pics of the final product  8)
