Allen "Atilla" Smith, III. he is based at my airport, and flew the difficult trek of 8nm north to willow grove. basically takes longer for the engine to spool up at start-up than it does for him to fly to the base (depart runway 33, land at base, at almost 12 o'clock, on runway 33
