Really old ?

Postby Rifleman » Fri Apr 21, 2006 8:59 pm

As old as this bird is, it's just not going to make you think 1946, but yes, this is a J3-C65 from way back then......

All cleaned up, painted nice and sounding like a purring kitten........

She sure is beautiful. :) Nice paint job too. My local airport (Alexandria, N85) used to own a Cub licensed in 1944 in it's original yellow, but was forced to sell it two or three years ago. Shame really, but I got a ride in it for my 11th birthday. :) I'll see if I can find some shots of that flight.

I agree with everyone, .....this is such a nice clean paint job it makes me wonder how anyone can still refinish in the "old" traditional "Cub Yellow".......although the old one is vintage, I prefer more modern "happy" schemes..... 8)

That's not a "J3-C65 " , it's a "Piper PA-18A-150 Super Cub" ::)
