Today's pics!

Postby Boss_BlueAngels » Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:52 am

OK here are some from today!

I have much better pics of the Skydive Snohomish planes taxiing by than this... but I enjoy the hand in the window!! haha  I was experimenting with my 18-55mm lens today and shot this with my shutter speed at 1/80 to get some good motion/prop blur.  I am quite pleased with this as you can see the progression of the motion blur out to the closer wingtip!

This was one of my last pictures of the day, but certainly one of my favorites!  I actually only got the outline on purpose! lol  The sky was just too cool to pass by!

Aaaahhh-yes.  The mighty C-1-5-2 transport. lol  Freshly washed by yours truely also!  Ain't she purdy?!

"Umm... mister!  You're forgetting something!!"

Oh yeah, that 1/80 shutter speed works pretty good for the helo.  Still no complete rotor disk, but at least everything in motion is blurred.

Well, that's it for now!  I'll have some good ones up some time soon.  I'm getting quite frustrated with my 100-300mm telephot as it only allows for ONE apeture setting for each focal length!  Anything higher gets an err99... so I'm unable to get my 1/80 shutter speed without ending up with a completely white picture if the sun is out!  Right now I'm hoping for clouds!

But yeah, lemme know what you think!
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

I like the silhouette & heli shots. Also the bad weather shots in your other topic. I've been experimenting in much the same way. Interesting to see what can be done with similar equipment but different ideas. I was never what you might call the artistic type although I've had my moments. ;)

Sounds to me like you need to get a camera shop to look at your lenses chip if your getting err99. Its a problem with either the lense or the camera. I wouldn't leave it too long as I have heard it can eventually become terminal.

Nice stuff... very good results considering the experimental theme!
And yes, that 152 is pretty... ;D
