The Cameraman Cometh...

Well a delivery van came today and the nice lady handed me this box:


I opened it up and inside was this box:


Inside of which was... The new lense I ordered the other day for my camera. Or to put it another way, my very own WL-FX9B!!! Which roughly translated means wideangle lense for fuji's.


So naturally I had to test it with the first view avaliable, that which resides outside my bedroom window.

Difference isn't great but think of the potential with more inspiring shots.

For your next test shot Woodie, try to include only about 25% of the vertical image with plain blue sky unless you have lots of interesting clouds.....this way, you will be able to judge how much more of the interesting foreground you can capture also......

It is. However the cylinder rings are practically worn though, the starter motors dodgy, the clutch has probably reseized by now and the transfer box is split, as a result of deseizing the clutch last summer.

Whats more it needs new door pillars and most likely a new chassis.

But I would like to know how you identified it as a series 2 from that picture though. I have to get a look at either the radiator grill or the dash to tell a series 2 and 3 apart.

Bet you'll see more dramatic results shooting close-up with a deep field behind the subject... a goose, perhaps...

I've looked at it again, and to be honest there is nothing in the picture that gives it away.

Excluding the headlight position and grille, external clues are the door hinges, the wing mirror position, and the brake light style. None of these are really discernable from the pic.

I don't know what to say, I guess it just has an overall air of series 2 about it. I suppose you never forget your first love
