Dakota @ Low Level

Got a rare chance to see a Dakota display with land as the background earlier this year. A few of my shots....

Very unusual shots of a beautiful aeroplane. I'm delighted you decided to post some of your excellent photos here for us all to see. ;)

Hot damn- you've made a "Gooney" fan very happy.
;D

Been thinking of a visit  to the UK (my 1st) next year... looks like I'll have to add Wales to the itinerary.
Where exactly is this hill, and do you get info beforehand on what might be passing by on a given day, or do you just hang out there and hope to get lucky?

I'm afraid this isn't an everyday occurence. The Dakota was performing a display that day for a small county show that was being held just outside the town you can see on some of the photos. Also this was actually in Northumberland in North East England (quite a way from Wales) not far from my home. What Charlie.. has said previously is correct in regards to if you do try low flying anywhere in this country. Sorry if i've dissapointed.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

That's good to hear Sean. Maybe Doug and myself could drag you down to Old Warden and Duxford...

Hell, you'll hardly have to drag me!! I honestly have little  interest in England except for the vintage aviation scene and possibly meeting some of you UK SimVers.
If and when I do make a visit, I'll try to bring some good weather with me... ;)
