NAS Oceana Airshow (Friday Evening Show - Part 3)

The Tomcat, and its replacement.  Can you believe the Tomcat is being replaced by.... a BUG...   :-/

Yeah, so screw the bug, here's a shot of the Tomcat for ya.  This airshow was all about the Tomcat for me.  I see too many Hornets every day taking off from Miramar.  I traveled coast-to-coast to see the TOMCAT.   ;D

And here's the Blue Angels tucked in and ready for a good nights rest before performing the next day.

I would travel 1,000s of miles to see the Avro Vulcan fly again.

I can't imagine how the roads around Bruntingthorpe are gonna cope when the Vulcan takes to the sky again. Luckily I only live a couple of miles away, but I can't help wonder how far we'll have to queue..

I feel exactly the same way about some types. I would travel 1,000s of miles to see the Avro Vulcan fly again. It's quite possible this will happen next season & involve far less than that. The Tomcat doesn't mean quite the same to me. It's a great looking aircraft & I must have seen one during a lifetime of visiting air displays, including the classic shows in the 1950s & 60s. It's more than likely but I don't recall ever seeing a Tomcat in the air.

That's the thing!

I never have seen the Vulcan fly! Well, never to my knowledge. Apparently I did when I was about 2 in the early 90's, flying from a display at the Leicester Air Display. I think there are many planes which I wish I could have seen though.. (Buccaneer, Lightning, maybe even a Super Guppy!)
