This is the reason i went, besides the Ayrton Senna tribute.
These are some of my all time Favorate cars, i'll let you guess which is my all time ::)
First the hall of champions:) Early Williams

then theres Mansells early FW10 from 1985

Shoot forward 5 years to Ricardo Patrese's FW13B

And here she is, what is to this day the most advanced F1 car of its time. Nigel Mansells FW14B won the world championship.

And Damon Hills Williams in the new and awful Blue White scheme.
Image
And incase you couldn't guess my favorate, i include one goofy shot of me in awe at its beauty. And yes i did touch it ::)

Those were the days. When Williams were winning everything in sight. ;)

I'm wondering if those cars have been transferred from the Williams factory private museum. I had a guided tour round there some years ago when my company was involved with them. They had a F1 car in the reception lounge & a trophy cabinet full of silverware. Never seen anything like it. Cameras not allowed.

now that would be an amazing day out.
I believe the FW14B had more 1-2 finishes in one season than any other team. But dont quote me on that.

The photo-forum is like a goldmine lately... all those pretty pictures... ( omag's eyes twinkle) ;)

Can't say F1-cars my me go wild, but I would like to know how much combined hp is on display there! The row just keeps on going! ... Not to mention the combined worth of these "cars"... let's face it, a F1-bolide is an engine with wheels and some plastic.... very advanced engines though...

Great shots there Craig. It'd be interesting to see how Mansell would have done if he'd never gone to Ferrari in 1989 - you wonder if he would have had a better chance of the championship in 1991  at least...

I think McLaren hold that record. I think they won and finished second in just about every race one season during the Prost/Senna days.
I was Nigel Mansells biggest fan. I got hooked on F1 watching Mansell. Those scraps he had with the likes of Senna (remember at Monaco when Mansell closed him down but could not get past) made F1 the most exciting sport in the World. Makes you wounder where it went wrong.
I must visit this place next time I'm up at East Mids.
