An eventful ride past Newark..

Postby flyboy 28 » Fri May 13, 2005 5:01 pm

Two weeks ago, my mom, dad, aunt and their cousins (mom and aunts) went into New York City for the 2005 Revlon Run/Walk for Womens Cancers. It was a nice event, except the fact we couldn't catch a cab back to the ferry and it's a 40-block walk back.. And it was raining.. So we get on the ferry and get back to New Jersey and get in our car. We were riding on Interstate 78, and theres a little hump that gives a nice view of Newark Liberty Intl., and I noticed a bunch of planes sitting on the taxiway, waiting to take active. I didn't see any planes departing, so I looked up to see if there were any on final, and sure enough. Out of the clouds comes dashing a FedEx Express MD10 with lots-o-vapor. Luckily, I had my camera in-hand (well, not my camera, but my dad's company camera) and it was on so I grabbed two real nice shots of it. Unfortunetly, I uploaded them to Airliners.net and didn't make it. Too dark.. Oh well. Now enough chit-chat, here's the pics.. ::)

Great shots, that second one looks like a shot from a film of a aircraft coming in for a emergancy landing I saw a while ago, you probally should have taken the subway, sort of cheap (much cheaper than a cab), faster than a cab, and fun

As for the subway, we tried, but you needed a pass.. The same with a bus.. ::) :-/

We eventually got a cab, but it cost 15 bucks from 41st Street to the ferry.. :P
