Thanks Roger. I suspect for the same reason I can't get a good one of the Spitfire (any Spitfire) or the Sea Fury. Trying too hard. ::) ;)

PS. I would hardly call mine a good shot of the Jug but it's the best I can do for now.

Probably true, I'll have to try less hard at Legends. Your Jug shot is still much better than the two half decent shots I got. I did however get a great in focus close up of its tail end.

I have that same problem with spitfires. Especially in the air. Fair enough my shots are generally poor but for whatever reason i cant ever get a good shot of it.

I reckon the best shot I ever got of a Spitfire was with my old F401 at Shoreham a couple of years ago. Completely unexpected & I was waiting for the Harrrier to arrive. I've been trying to match this ever since.

The bonus was having a chat with the pilot outside the airport restaurant when I went over to celebrate. ;)

That is a nice shot Doug. Great angle, light and its not missing its nose or tail:) Even moreso its cool you got a chance to speak with the guy who flys it. Very lucky few who get that job.

John Romain not only displays many different types of aircraft, he's also a very talented engineer. The guy responsible for restoring the Blenheim & now doing it all over again after it pranged for the second time a couple of years ago. He's the boss of the ARC at Duxford. http://www.arc-duxford.co.uk/

So was it a long chat? or a quick chat over a pint. I'd imagine hes the sort of person you could just talk to all day but never repeat the same thing twice as far as his knowledge and experience.

He was tired & still busy so we only had time for a short chat. As he's flown many different types I asked him which was his his favourite mark of Spitfire. He said "They're all beautiful". ;)
