Isn't that a Taylorcraft? Piper produced the Cub after them..

Nice pics, too Doug. Very fine selection. :)

Thanks James. Hope I got your name right. I'm easily confused these days.

G-BCPJ is listed as a Piper J3C-65 Cub. Manufactured in 1945.

...and flown by a chap called Rex, who I met the other week at Duxford - but I failed to make the connection between the two until too late... ::)

I aim to be there. Not sure which is the best day to go. Maybe we could meet up if you wish. That's providing they let me in. I never got over that Spitfire anniversary cockup.

I remember you saying something about that once before. I got in OK, but I got there at 08:00. Same thing happened at the Battle of Britain show in 2000 when they had to close the gates because it got full, but it has never happened at any other Duxford show I've ever been to.
I'm going on Sunday as I'm working on Saturday. Looking forward to it very much now.

From what I was told, that Spitfire anniversary show turned out to be more popular than the organisers expected. They simply ran out of car parking space. In hindsight we should have left earlier but we didn't worry as we had special complimentary tickets from the OFMC. Even so the police wouldn't let us off the M11 & we had to crawl all the way to Cambridge before we could turn round & head for home. The biggest traffic jam I've ever seen. After that fiasco I swore I would never go to Duxford on a show day ever again. I weakened last season & had no trouble at the two events I attended.

I'm still not sure which day to go. It all depends so much on the weather.
