Autumn Air Show - Duxford

Postby Hagar » Thu Sep 16, 2004 12:45 pm

Here's a few I took at Duxford 2 weeks ago. Not among my best efforts. I was so pleased with my Old Warden shots I forgot all about them until now.

View from the flightline. American Air Museum at far left. You wouldn't believe the amount of aircraft packed in there.

Sally B. Look at that clear blue sky. Lovely. :D

Jet Provost T.1. Looks like it's on stilts. One theory for those long legs is that if the jet version didn't work out it could have been fitted with a conventional radial engine.

Very smart T-33.

F-86A Sabre (I think it's the A model). Wish I'd got some action shots of these 2 in close formation.

The big cats. Grumman Bearcat & Tigercat.

Hoping Tempest can make up for my poor efforts at the final Duxford show of the season in October. If the weather's anything like this I might keep him company. We should get a few decent shots between us. ;)

As usual, even your "second class quality" is still better than my best.

I don't think global warming has anything to do with it. I'm not a great believer in that particular theory. ::)
This was one of these idyllic weekends we've been getting now & again for as long as I can remember. I've experienced quite a few like it this year. :P ;)

Thanks Tempest. These were all taken with "Old Faithful", my reserve camera. Just as well I took them as I was experimenting with the settings on the new one. Nothing I tried worked out so that was a complete waste of time. I should have left it on Auto. ;)

PS. I didn't even intend going to Duxford until the following day. It's a long story but I got the dates mixed up. Maybe I should have stayed in bed. ??? ::) ;D
